This week, the power battery cell market continued to exhibit a stable yet adjusted operational trend. In terms of pricing, the quotation range for mainstream LFP battery cells fluctuated rangebound, with most market transactions concentrated on long-term agreements with leading battery cell manufacturers. Price competition among terminal automakers persisted into mid-May, particularly for pure electric platforms at A-level and below, with a deep dive into vehicle selling prices, imposing higher requirements on upstream BOM costs. Against this backdrop, power battery cell manufacturers gradually optimized their product strategies, maintaining a stable supply of basic large-capacity LFP products while accelerating the launch of differentiated solutions tailored for niche markets, such as low-cost, high-integration modules, and new-generation LFP battery cells compatible with CTP structures. Some ternary battery cell producers also enhanced product cost-effectiveness through technologies like high-voltage iron doping and fast-charging systems, advancing the matching of customized battery cells, represented by the 9-series, in the testing phase with core customers.
